"Doesn’t anyone else find it interesting that a two thousand year old game is still one of the most commonly used decision making tools in the world"?
I went down a rabbit hole the other day and ended up googling "when was rock, paper, scissors invented. Actually this is how most of my thoughts and ideas start. It was surprising to find out that the earliest record of Rock, Paper Scissors found, dates back to 206 BC. Apparently it’s the oldest hand game in the world. That we know of. Some would say Chinas greatest gift to the world created during the Han Dynasty. Over the years there are thought to be several different versions of the game inspired by the original Rock paper scissors. One of the most notable versions would be the Rochambeau named after a Frenchman who helped the Americans destroy England in the Revolutionary war. In this version, "Rock" "Paper" "Scissors" were represented by "Ro" "Cham" "Beau".
What is funny about this, is that as advanced as we have become with all of the technology coming out every year, we still use the rock paper scissors game to make a lot of our decisions. Doesn’t anyone else find it interesting that a two thousand year old game is still one of the most commonly used decision making tools in the world? It's Really fascinating if you think about it.
I figure since "Rock Paper Scissors" is one of the most commonly used decision making tools there are a few things to know that will help your odds at gaining the outcome you desire. Number one, there is some disagreement on when to "shoot." You always pound your hand three times before you "shoot." The second thing you need to know, is that Rock is thrown most at 35.4 percent. Scissors is thrown almost as equally at 35 percent and paper is thrown just under 30 percent of the time. This means that Paper gives you the best chance for success.
